Eriks Bozis
*1969, Liepaja (Estonie). Vit à Ljepaja. (installation in situ) The Yugoslav artist Eriks Bozis is a conceptual artist who often stages interventions in public space by changing its scale or certain perception schemes. In Luxembourg, he has chosen the historic rooms of the Musée d'Histoire de la Ville de Luxembourg featuring stucco elements where he has installed light boxes with photographs depicting decorative details of these very rooms. The photographs either enlarge or reduce the size of the patterns; half-lit, their artificial aspect is reinforced and makes them communicate with the surrounding space. This installation stems from the artist's first visit to Luxembourg last December, and from his urbanistic analysis of the city. Philosophical thinking about reality and perception appears alongside a critical analysis of a distinct lifestyle.
