Bojan Sarcevic
*1974, Belgrade. Lives in Paris. Photographic Documentation and Archive of Manifesta 2: Roman Mensing, Münster Untitled (Installation),1998 plaster, wood, paper, concrete, paint Bojan Sarcevic left his hometown Sarajevo at the beginning of the war in Bosnia and went to study in Paris. At the Musée national d'histoire et d'art he has deliberately chosen spaces which are no longer used following the removal of the Musée d'histoire naturelle in 1995. His installation consists of small interventions which nevertheless change the entire room. A wall closes the room completely. A false ceiling modifies its volume. The wall paint has been slightly altered. Finally Bojan Sarcevic filled all joints in the walls with toilet paper, sealing it off hermetically. Bojan Sarcevic took classes with Christian Boltanski. His great sensibility and deliberate aversion to the media world make him a fine representative for a young generation of just emerging artists.
